For family law attorneys.
Leanne Ozaine, CDFA, divorce financial analysis based out of Spokane, Washington. Serving the Pacific Northwest and clients nationwide.
Nice to meet you.
I'm a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst and financial planner with 20 years of experience. I handle the financial analysis that complements what you do. Asset tracing, settlement modeling, executive compensation breakdowns, pension calculations, and the financial narratives that help mediators and judges understand what "equitable" actually looks like in dollars.
Your job is the law. My job is the money. When both sides are covered, your client's case is stronger.
I don't give legal advice. I don't talk to opposing counsel without your knowledge. I support your strategy with financial analysis, and I deliver it on your timeline.
Listen first
If you want to understand how I think about divorce finances and how I advocate for people, listen to The Private Sessions. It's the same education I give my own clients. Eight audio episodes covering the financial side of divorce: what to gather, what to watch for, and how I approach settlement analysis.
It's the best way to evaluate my approach before referring a client.
How we work together
Most of my attorney referrals start with a strategy session. Your client sits down with me (virtually or in person in Spokane) and I assess their financial picture. I look at what's on the table, what's missing, and where the risk is. Then I report back to you with what I found and what I recommend.
If the case needs deeper work, I can do a full settlement review, line by line. I calculate the after-tax, after-penalty, liquidity-adjusted value of every asset in the proposal so your client sees what they're actually getting, not just what it looks like on paper.
For complex or high-asset cases, I work alongside you for the duration. I draft settlement proposals and financial narratives. I prepare your client for mediation. I can appear in mediation via Zoom. I model multiple scenarios so you and your client can evaluate trade-offs based on math, not guesswork.
I work cooperatively alongside the attorney, always. You stay in your lane. I stay in mine. Your client gets a stronger case because both sides are covered by specialists.
Exploring partnerships
I'm exploring referral partnerships with attorneys who share my commitment to getting the financial side right. The cases where the numbers are complex, where there's executive compensation or business ownership or real estate across state lines, where your client needs someone running the financial analysis alongside your legal strategy.
If you're interested in how we might work together, I'd love to have that conversation.
